One of the premier rafting trips in the west, Lodore Canyon has changed little since the John Wesley Powell expedition that named it in 1869. The vibrant green of Lodgepole pine and Douglas fir stand out against the deep, vermillion walls of the canyon. Bighorn sheep, deer, river otter and plenty of bird life call the canyon home. Flowing clean and cold, the Lodore offers class II and III whitewater along with nice stretches of tranquil flat water. Trips commonly take out at the Dinosaur Quarry in Dinosaur National Monument where paleontologists are actively researching and excavating.
